Kansas State has now added their first five-star commit for the Class of 2025.

Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman has secured perhaps his most significant recruit for the Class of 2025, choosing the Wildcats over the Jayhawks.

Five-star recruit Linkon Cure decided on his college career destination over the holiday week, and the Goodland, Kansas native opted for the Wildcats’ purple and white instead of the Jayhawks’ red and blue.

Cure, a highly sought-after tight end in the Class of 2025, had narrowed his choices to Kansas State, Kansas, Oregon, and Texas A&M. Cure’s commitment is the highest for Kansas State since quarterback Jake Rubley, who was ranked No. 28, committed in 2021. The Goodland native is ranked No. 64 in the 2025 ESPN 300.

As the nation’s No. 2 tight end, Linkon Cure will join Kansas State at an opportune time with Ben Sinnott’s departure. Coach Chris Klieman will be pleased to have a young, talented tight end next season.

The 6-foot-6 prospect from Goodland, Kansas, a small town in the western part of the state, will spend the next four years in Manhattan, a little over four hours from his hometown. Cure visited all four of his finalist schools but decided to become a Wildcat after a long, emotional conversation with Klieman during his official visit.

Cure’s older brother, Leyton, is a tight end at Kansas, creating a house divided for the Cure family. In high school, Cure’s sophomore season was cut short by a hamstring injury, limiting him to just four games. However, he made a strong comeback in his junior year, recording 42 receptions for 946 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Cure excels not only on the football field but also as a dual-sport athlete. He is a three-time state champion hurdler in track and field and helped lead the Goodland men’s basketball team to the state title game in 2024.

Klieman is focusing on the future, evident from the commitments of two four-star athletes in June, as well as wide receiver Adonis Moise and offensive lineman Brock Heath.
