Just In: Massive Boost As 2025 Three-Star Top Prospect Commits To Michigan

The Wolverines land another wideout from Louisiana this cycle.

Ron Bellamy returned to his native Louisiana to secure the Michigan Wolverines’ second wide receiver commitment for the 2025 class, receiving a verbal commitment from three-star Phillip Wright on Friday.

Wright picked the Wolverines over Georgia and LSU.

Bellamy extended an offer to Wright in November. Wright made an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor in April for the annual spring game and later went on his official visit on the weekend of June 14.

The 5-foot-11, 160-pound athlete from Destrehan High School is involved in multiple sports, showcasing his speed in track and field as well. According to his Hudl page, he boasts impressive times of 10.45 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 4.39 seconds in the 40-yard dash. Additionally, he has experience as a returner for his high school football team.

In addition to his final three choices, Wright received offers from Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Baylor, Miami, Mississippi State, Nebraska, and several others. These offers are quite impressive for the 541st overall prospect on 247Sports’ composite rankings.

The Wolverines now have 16 commitments for their 2025 recruiting class. Wright is the second wide receiver to commit to Michigan, joining four-star Jacob Washington, who committed last month. Additionally, he is the third player from Louisiana to commit to the Wolverines, alongside four-star running back Jasper Parker and Washington.
