Breaking: Huge Boost As Commanders Add Former Panthers Elite To Front Office

The Washington Commanders’ front office restructuring continued on Monday with the appointment of former Carolina Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer.

According to Ben Standig of The Athletic, Fitterer will work as a personnel executive under general manager Adam Peters.

The Panthers dismissed Fitterer in January after three seasons, during which the team had an NFL-worst record of 14-37.

Fitterer, 50, began his NFL career as a scout with the Giants and climbed the ranks within the Seahawks’ scouting department from 2001 to 2020.

Fitterer’s hiring is part of Peters’ efforts to revamp the Commanders’ front office.

In January, Washington’s general manager brought in coach Dan Quinn and followed up by appointing former Lions executive Lance Newmark as assistant general manager in February.
