As the NFL postseason intensifies emotions, players from teams that made the playoffs often express their feelings more openly. The Kansas City Chiefs, having secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC early, earned an extra week of rest with their season finale against the Denver Broncos. Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Bengals saw their playoff hopes dashed after the Broncos dominated the Chiefs’ backups in Week 18.
Amid rumors that the Chiefs intentionally lost to Denver to eliminate the Bengals, Travis Kelce fired back with a bold message, saying he wasn’t “scared of f—ing nobody” and that it would have been “fun” to see the Bengals in the playoffs.
On his podcast Wednesday, Kelce added, “I’ll play [the Bengals] at the Walmart parking lot. I don’t give a s—. We can have our own game in the offseason and really duke it out.”
Bengals star Cam Taylor-Britt was quick to respond to Kelce’s comments, dismissing them with a blunt, “CAP SHUT THAT SHI UP” on social media.
Taylor-Britt’s remarks reflect the frustration of a Bengals team that narrowly missed the playoffs for the second consecutive year despite quarterback Joe Burrow’s MVP-caliber performance. The Chiefs-Bengals rivalry, already filled with memorable moments like “Burrowhead” and jabs from the city mayor, has been a fierce one. It’s unfortunate that these two powerhouse AFC teams won’t be facing off this postseason.
