Massive News As Golden State Warriors Reportedly Lands “KEY” Signing Immediately After Summer League

The Golden State Warriors have swiftly begun making roster decisions following their Summer League exit, after a close 102-99 loss to the Miami Heat in the Semifinals on Sunday.

Earlier in the week, Daeqwon Plowden signed a two-way contract with the Warriors, and now forward Jackson Rowe has been added to the training camp roster, according to Keith Smith of Spotrac.

Rowe, who had an impressive Summer League performance, might be the first of several players the Warriors sign to a training camp deal. In the game against the Heat, Rowe recorded six points, seven rebounds, two assists, and four steals in just under 27 minutes. He entered the game with averages of 12.7 points on 51.7% shooting from the field and 36.8% from three-point range in his previous three Summer League appearances.

The 6’7″ forward has a history with the Warriors, having spent the last season with their G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors. During the 2023-24 season, Rowe averaged 13.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, shooting 49.4% from the floor and 35.6% from beyond the arc on over six attempts per game.

Rowe was one of several standout players during the team’s combined 7-1 record in the Vegas and California Classic games. He may not be the only player to earn a training camp contract with the franchise soon.

Kevin Knox capped his Summer League campaign with an impressive 31-point performance (12-of-17 shooting, 5-of-10 from three-point range) against the Heat, along with 11 rebounds, nearly leading the Warriors to victory.

Guards Ethan Thompson and Yuri Collins also performed well and might be invited to training camp. Meanwhile, the Warriors have yet to officially sign 52nd overall pick Quinten Post to a two-way or standard contract. The current two-way spots are filled by Plowden, Pat Spencer, and Reece Beekman, although Beekman hasn’t been seen since the first two games of the California Classic.

Rowe has now positioned himself to compete for a two-way deal in training camp, though it will be challenging, and he might return to Santa Cruz for more time in the G League next season.
