Former Washington Huskies receiver Jason Robinson Jr. pledged to UNC football head coach Bill Belichick and his staff before finalizing his financial agreement with the Tar Heels on Saturday evening, as confirmed by North Carolina Tar Heels On SI. The 5-foot-10, 151-pound slot receiver made his commitment just one day after entering the transfer portal.
Although Robinson did not play in any games with the Huskies, he was recognized as the Brian Stapp Defensive Scout Squad MVP during his redshirt freshman year for his contributions in helping Washington prepare for competition throughout the season.
As a highly regarded three-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting cycle, Jason Robinson Jr. excelled at San Juan Hills High School (California), ranking No. 498 overall, No. 72 among wide receivers, and No. 39 in California according to the 247Sports 2024 Composite.
His commitment to the Tar Heels brought the total number of incoming UNC football transfers to 15 this cycle. This initial group during the much-anticipated Bill Belichick era also includes another wide receiver, former two-year Michigan State Spartans player Aziah Johnson.
The promising transfer haul for UNC football, which added five new names just last week, is now ranked No. 28 in the nation and No. 6 among ACC programs, according to 247Sports.
