In today’s edition of Auburn Tigers News we look at which Auburn football commits will be visiting for Big Cat Weekend and Hugh Freeze explains why Keldric Faulk was chosen for SEC Media Days

This weekend marks Auburn football program’s premier recruiting event of the year. Each summer concludes with Big Cat Weekend, where the Tigers invite recruits and their families to the Plains for a weekend filled with fun and fellowship.

Historically, Big Cat Weekend has been pivotal for Auburn’s recruiting successes, such as last year’s commitment from wide receiver Malcolm Simmons and Perry Thompson’s switch from Alabama.

Hugh Freeze explains why Keldric Faulk was chosen for SEC Media Days: Last week, Keldric Faulk, along with Eugene Asante and Payton Thorne, represented Auburn at the 2024 SEC Media Days. Faulk, a true sophomore, is the youngest player selected for Media Days in 40 years. His impact was evident from his debut as a true freshman.

Faulk played in all 13 games last season, starting in eight, and recorded 35 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and one sack. However, his influence extends beyond his stats, as noted by head coach Hugh Freeze.

“Keldric has an incredible voice that people listen to because he’s wise for his age,” Freeze said, according to Auburn Athletics. “His work ethic is remarkable. He’s probably the most accountable guy we have on the defensive side to this point.”

Faulk’s production and leadership are expected to grow even more in his second year on the Plains.
