Reports: 26 Recruits on Campus During Florida’s Grill In The Ville Cookout, With The 6’3, 280-pound Sensation

Four-star defensive line commit Jeramiah McCloud was among 26 recruits who attended Florida’s Grill in the Ville cookout last Saturday. Gator Country caught up with the 6’3″, 280-pound native of Leesburg, Georgia, to discuss his unofficial visit and future plans.

McCloud appreciated the relaxed atmosphere of the cookout, as it allowed him to connect with coaches and current commits.

“It was fun. We had a great time,” McCloud shared about the visit. “I got to build relationships with the coaches. I spent time with Coach Chatman and played some games with Coach Napier. I really enjoyed hanging out with a few of the commits.”

During his time in Gainesville, McCloud also took the opportunity to recruit some uncommitted prospects, including recent Ohio State commit Jarquez Carter.

“He committed to Ohio State, so seeing him here today means a lot. I reminded him that Florida is the best choice for him,” McCloud said about his message to Carter.

“Florida is a great fit. The relationships with the coaches are solid, and they’re genuinely good people, not just in football,” he added.

Although Florida’s 2025 recruiting class is starting slowly, McCloud isn’t concerned, especially since there are reports of a silent commitment over the weekend.

“With the new commit we just received, I think people will really start getting excited about Florida again,” McCloud said. “Florida is definitely on the rise. I can see that.”

While McCloud is committed to Florida, he plans to take all his official visits during the season to explore other options.

“I’m committed, but I want to keep my recruitment open to ensure it’s the right fit for me. I’m curious to see what other schools have to offer,” McCloud explained.

The Lee County High School standout intends to visit Georgia, LSU, FSU, and Auburn this fall.
