REPORTS: 5 NC State football 2024 fall camp breakout candidates

NC State football kicks off its fall camp on Wednesday, gearing up for the highly awaited 2024 season. Several media outlets have placed the Wolfpack in the preseason Top 25, with their opening game against Western Carolina set for August 29.

Here are five players poised for standout seasons this fall.

Before spring practice, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Rogers, despite his obvious talent and high school accolades. His redshirt year at Ohio State and transition to the Wolfpack added uncertainty. However, he quickly impressed during spring ball and now appears to be the most gifted player on State’s roster. It wouldn’t be surprising if Rogers emerges as one of the ACC’s top receivers by the end of the season.

Caden Fordham, a redshirt junior LB, has been a team player since joining the Wolfpack, patiently rotating through all linebacker positions before stepping up as a starter. Last season, as the top reserve linebacker, he made a significant impact with 53 tackles, ranking fifth on the team. Now focusing solely on the middle linebacker position, Fordham’s athleticism and football intelligence suggest he could easily surpass 100 tackles this season.

Jacarrius Peak, a redshirt sophomore OT, has been touted for his potential since arriving on campus. After gaining experience last season as the starting right tackle, he’s poised to make strides this fall. Despite some ups and downs, Peak’s flashes of brilliance indicate he could become one of the ACC’s top young offensive linemen.

Sophomore CB Brandon Cisse wasted no time making an impression last fall, earning a role in State’s defensive scheme as a true freshman. He made significant strides over the offseason, standing out in winter workouts and spring practice. Alongside All-American Aydan White, Cisse has the potential to form one of the ACC’s elite cornerback duos this season.

Travali Price, a redshirt junior DE, entered last season with high expectations but faced tough competition. Despite limited snaps, he managed 13 tackles, showcasing his potential. With a strong offseason behind him, Price is expected to step up significantly this year. His development could be a game-changer for the Wolfpack’s defense.
