Just In, Spurs are on the verge of making a hard-headed mistake this offseason

In Silver and Black country, there’s no denying the Spurs’ success during this rebuild. It’s taking longer than some of the more impatient supporters would like, but yelling for success in San Antonio is perfectly acceptable. It’s reasonable that there is frustration after 15 years of five titles, but the renovation has been a total overhaul and will eventually pay off. It’s there already.

But if the Spurs don’t move Keldon Johnson, they might be making a mistake in this process that will cause them to regress a little more than anticipated. If he stays in silver and black, Keldon has a lot to give the squad, but as a trade piece, he can also be useful to San Antonio.

The Spurs should move Keldon while his value is high
He’s a young guard/forward who can score. The Kentucky Wildcat can start and be a focal point of the offense, or he can come off the bench and be a contributor for another star player. KJ is young (24) and doesn’t have too many miles on his legs at this point, but he’s also experienced, just finishing his fifth year in the league. He’s got a team-friendly contract for today’s NBA and is likely a plug-and-play addition to any team that acquires him.

You could possibly acquire a player like Anfernee Simons from the Portland Trail Blazers after a recent report that they prefer to move him or Jerami Grant before the season begins. Now is the time to pounce on a dynamic scorer like that.
