Reports: Steve Sarkisian’s Intriguing Review Of New-Look SEC Texas Football Talented WR Room

Last season, Texas boasted one of the nation’s top wide receiver groups, featuring Xavier Worthy, Adonai Mitchell, and Jordan Whittington. This year, though, the lineup will look quite different. Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian addressed the wide receiver situation on Monday, highlighting the versatility of the new players, who can line up both inside and outside.

“I think that’s great for us because it gives us a lot of position flexibility,” Sarkisian stated, as reported by Wescott Eberts. “They can work well with one another, and communication has been easier, which we haven’t always had the luxury of in recent years. So, while it’s a new situation for us, it feels very comfortable.”

This versatility is crucial for Texas as they integrate many new players. It simplifies coaching and opens up numerous opportunities for the athletes. Although it can be challenging to completely overhaul the wide receiver position, it seems that the transition is progressing positively.

Which WRs have been standing out?

The Texas football team has 10 wide receivers on its roster, with seven of them being newcomers. All starting wide receivers will be new this season, and most are expected to be transfers. Freshman Ryan Wingo is also anticipated to make an impact this year.

Among the receivers, Silas Bolden has particularly impressed head coach Steve Sarkisian. In a recent camp update, Sarkisian highlighted five players who stood out to him, and Bolden was the only wide receiver he mentioned.
