An Alarming Statistic For Georgia Football Ahead of the 2024 College Football Season

As the Georgia Bulldogs prepare for the 2024 college football season, they face a concerning statistic.

With just weeks until the start of the season, the Dawgs are aiming for their third national title in four years. They boast an elite coaching staff, a roster filled with exceptional talent, and new additions from the transfer portal, all of which position them well for success.

However, amidst these positives, there is a troubling statistic that could jeopardize their national title aspirations: according to FOX College Football, only one of the last ten national champions in the College Football Playoff started the season ranked number one.

The Bulldogs were recently ranked as the top team in the nation by the AP Poll and many experts predict they will emerge as champions by the end of the season.

While these rankings have little impact on how Kirby Smart’s team will perform in 2024, they highlight a College Football Playoff system that has since changed. The absence of national championships for the top-ranked team in week one is likely a concern for Georgia fans.
