Breaking: Massive News As Findlay Department Of Athletics Hires Top Elite As Assistant Golf Coach

Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay’s athletics department has announced the appointment of Steve Mulcahy as the new assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s golf teams.

Head coach Dominic Guarnieri expressed excitement about Mulcahy’s addition, stating, “Steve Mulcahy joining our team marks an exciting new chapter for Oilers golf. His extensive experience as a PGA teaching professional is a significant asset, and his character and values align perfectly with the University of Findlay and our golf program. We are eager to advance both our men’s and women’s teams, helping our athletes excel academically, in the community, and on the course.”

Mulcahy arrives at Findlay after a 23-year tenure as the Head Golf Professional at Shawnee Country Club in Lima, Ohio. During his time there, he was named the Northern Ohio PGA Teacher of the Year in 2010 and appeared on Golf Digest’s list of “Best Teachers in the State of Ohio” for the past two decades, securing the top spot eight times between 2009 and 2018.

He is a member of both the Allen County Golf Hall of Fame and the Lima Central Catholic High School Hall of Fame. From 1998 to 2008, Mulcahy served on Titleist’s Leadership Advisory Staff, providing resources for the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI).

Recently, he has been active on the Board of Directors for the Lima Junior Golf Association, mentoring local junior players and leading high school teams from Lima Central Catholic and Bath High School to a total of eight OHSAA state championships.

As a competitor, Mulcahy has achieved 30 professional tournament victories as a member of the Northern Ohio PGA, along with ten additional wins in the Toledo Chapter of the PGA. He was also honored as the Toledo Area PGA Player of the Year in 2007.
