Just In: Massive News As Vancouver Canucks Announce Hockey Operations Update

Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin has announced updates to the team’s Hockey Operations department. Chris Trivieri has been elevated to Assistant Athletic Therapist, Curtis Bell has been appointed Athletic Therapist, and Gerry Ramogida has been named Performance Therapist. Additionally, Patrick Leblond and Luca Caputi have joined the team as full-time Amateur Scouts.

Trivieri is starting his fourth season with the Canucks, having initially joined the Abbotsford Canucks as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the 2021-22 season. He continued in that role until the 2023-24 season, when he was promoted to Head Athletic Therapist. Before his tenure with the Canucks, the Welland, ON native worked with the Kingston Frontenacs for the 2018-19 season and spent two seasons (2019-21) with the Niagara IceDogs in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

Bell, who hails from Los Angeles, CA, brings 12 years of experience with the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he held roles including Assistant Athletic Trainer, Director of Sports Performance, and most recently, Athletic Trainer. He has also served as Head Athletic Trainer for the Tampa Bay Lightning (1997-99), New Jersey Devils (2003-04), and Florida Panthers (2005-08). Bell holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Southern California (1992) and a master’s degree in Applied Clinical Nutrition from Northeast College (2017).

Ramogida, a Vancouver native, joins the team after nearly 30 years as a prominent chiropractor and performance therapist. His experience spans various sports, including the NHL, NBA, NFL, EPL, and Olympic Track and Field, with notable contributions to the Seattle Seahawks’ 2014 Super Bowl win and the Golden State Warriors’ 2022 NBA Championship. He has developed a distinctive approach combining manual techniques with advanced biomechanical insights. Ramogida earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia (1993) and a Doctor of Chiropractic from Western States Chiropractic College (1997).

Leblond has spent six seasons as a scout with the Cape Breton Eagles of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), including serving as Director of Scouting and Hockey Operations Administration for the 2023-24 season. Prior to Cape Breton, the Quebec native was a regional scout with the Val-d’Or Foreurs in 2011-12 and a scout for QMJHL Central Scouting during the 2017-18 season.

Caputi has spent parts of the last three seasons as Head Coach of the Kingston Frontenacs, achieving a record of 72-67-5-3 and leading the team to the OHL Playoffs in the 2021-22 season. The Toronto, ON native also served as an Associate Coach with the Frontenacs for three seasons (2018-21) and as an Assistant Coach with the Guelph Storm (OHL) for three seasons (2015-18). During his NHL career (2008-09 to 2010-11), Caputi played 35 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Toronto Maple Leafs, recording nine points (3-6-9) and 20 penalty minutes.
