Reports: Top-50 PF Latrell Allmond Looking To Make a Visit To Louisville, ’26 Power Forward Among The Mix

The University of Louisville basketball staff has been actively scouting at Team Loaded-Virginia games this spring and summer during the Adidas 3SSB Circuit. One prospect they are particularly interested in is Class of 2026 power forward Latrell Allmond.

Standing at 6-foot-8 and hailing from John Marshall High School in Richmond, Va., Allmond has made a name for himself on the Team Loaded squad, despite being younger than most of his teammates. He received an offer from the Cardinals back in April and now has over 20 offers in total.

Allmond expressed that he has enjoyed the recruiting process and appreciates the opportunity to build relationships with coaches since they were allowed to start contacting him again on June 15. “It was a lot of fun and really opened my eyes,” he said, noting it helped him gauge which schools are genuinely interested in him.

Louisville is one of those schools. Allmond mentioned that he has been in frequent contact with U of L assistant coach Thomas Carr, who has consistently watched his games this summer, even bringing multiple staff members to observe him play.

“Coach Carr checks in on me a lot,” Allmond said. “They’re paying attention and he mentioned they’ll keep following my progress.”

Recently, Allmond made an unofficial visit to NC State and plans to visit Oklahoma State in September. He is also eager to take a trip to Louisville this fall.

As a four-star prospect, Allmond has additional offers from schools like Kansas, Tennessee, Virginia, LSU, Florida State, Georgetown, and Mississippi State, among others. He is looking for a college where he can play immediately and where the coaches will challenge him to improve.

Allmond averaged 7.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game for Team Loaded while competing against older players. At the NCAA Academy in late July, he showcased his improved versatility and was recognized as a standout player by 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein.

“This spring and summer, I focused on my development,” Allmond said. “I worked on getting stronger in the weight room and aimed to be the best player I could be for my team.”

He believes competing with talented players has prepared him for the college level. “I had to find my value to the team, fitting in and doing what I could to contribute,” he explained.

Currently, Allmond is ranked as the No. 42 player in the nation and the No. 4 center overall by 247Sports, and he ranks as the No. 3 player in Virginia.
