Breaking: Former Alabama Offensive Lineman Re-Joins The Birmingham Stallions

Deonte Brown is set to make another attempt in the United Football League after winning a championship with the Birmingham Stallions, despite only playing one regular-season game in 2024.

The former Alabama guard has re-signed with the Stallions, as announced by the UFL on Wednesday.

After completing three seasons with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, Brown joined Birmingham for the spring football season in 2024 and started at left guard in the opening game. However, during the Stallions’ 27-14 win against the Arlington Renegades on March 30, Brown suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter, which resulted in him being placed on injured reserve.

Brown was sidelined for the rest of the regular season. He made his return in reserve roles during the 31-18 win against the Michigan Panthers in the USFL Conference Championship Game on June 8, and again in the 25-0 victory over the San Antonio Brahmas in the UFL Championship Game on June 16.

In 2015, Brown received the Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 6A Lineman of the Year Award as Austin High School in Decatur advanced to the AHSAA Class 6A semifinals.

Brown made his first start at Alabama during the 2018 season. In his last game with the Crimson Tide, Alabama dominated Ohio State 52-24 in the CFP national championship game, finishing the 2020 season undefeated.

Brown was selected by the Panthers in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, appearing in three regular-season games for Carolina.
