Highly Rated Student Football-Athletics Named Zachary Capra Memorial Scholarship Recipient

Alamosa, Colo. – The Zachary Michael Capra Foundation, in collaboration with Adams State Athletics, has announced that football player Trevor Allen has received the fourth annual Zachary Capra Memorial Scholarship.

Founded in 2018 to honor Zachary Michael Capra, who was pursuing a career as a commercial airline pilot, the nonprofit remembers him after he tragically lost his life in a plane crash shortly after takeoff in Daytona Beach, Florida, on April 4, 2018. Zachary had spent a semester at Adams State University.

“Trevor is an incredible asset to the Adams State football team, both on the field and in the classroom. His dedication to academics and athletics motivates both coaches and teammates, and this award reflects that. We are proud to have Trevor as part of the ASU football family,” stated Head Football Coach Jarrell Harrison.

To be eligible for the scholarship, student-athletes must be full-time, degree-seeking students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.

Trevor Allen, a sophomore punter and kicker from Escondido, California, attended Classical Academy, is majoring in sports management, and has maintained a GPA of 3.27.

“I am truly honored to be the fifth recipient of this scholarship! My dream is to earn my degree in sports management and pursue a professional football career, and this scholarship significantly contributes to helping me achieve that goal,” said Allen.
