Releasing former Tar Heel Marcus McKethan wasn’t sufficient. The New York Giants have now also dropped former linebacker Tomon Fox from the team.

The Athletic’s Dan Duggan reported today that former UNC football player Tomon Fox has become the latest player cut by the New York Giants, although there’s speculation he could join the practice squad.
This isn’t new for Tomon Fox, who has experienced ups and downs with the Giants since signing as an undrafted free agent in 2022. Over the past year, he played in 16 games and recorded 24 tackles (15 solo) in a limited role before being released on August 29, 2023. He was quickly signed to the practice squad the next day.
Fox was promoted to the main roster on Christmas Eve 2023 but returned to the practice squad the following day. Since January 10, 2024, he has been on a reserve/future contract with the Giants. This latest release is just another chapter in his tumultuous NFL career.
