Members of the UNC basketball program are well aware of just how good Jae’Lyn Withers has been since being re-inserted into the starting lineup.

Jae’Lyn Withers has been on an incredible run lately.

Since being reintroduced to the starting lineup, the fifth-year graduate student is fully capitalizing on his increased role. Over the last three games, Withers has tallied 43 points (averaging 14.3 points per game), marking his highest three-game scoring output as a Tar Heel.

Beyond his offensive contributions, Withers has also played a key role in the team’s defensive efforts. With his ability to block shots and secure rebounds, he’s leveraged his size effectively—a much-needed asset for the UNC basketball program.

After the victory against Virginia on Saturday, several players, including head coach Hubert Davis, commented on Withers’ recent performance. They all offered glowing remarks, highlighting his significance to the team’s success:

“Yes, he scored 16 and grabbed 11 rebounds, but his defensive consistency, rebounding, shot-making, and playmaking are invaluable. We rely on his experience.
