Top News: Former Xavier University Basketball Standout Baller Selected To FIBA Hall of Fame

Now that Romain Sato has been inducted into the Hall of Fame, are his cards still seen as “common”? The short answer is no!

CARDBIZ – NEW YORK – Former Xavier University standout guard Romain Sato has been named to the FIBA Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

While Sato’s cards are generally categorized as common, his status as an international Hall of Famer suggests they might deserve a higher regard.

Born in Bimbo, Central African Republic, Sato played high school basketball in Dayton, Ohio, and graduated from Xavier in 2004.

As a four-year starter for the Musketeers, he helped the team secure four straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

Picked by San Antonio in the second round (56th overall) of the 2004 NBA Draft, he spent his entire career playing in Europe. He led teams to championships in Italy, Greece, Turkey, and Spain, as well as a EuroLeague and EuroCup title.

Sato also represented the Central African Republic at the 2009 FIBA Africa Championship, where he averaged 21.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, earning a spot on the All-Tournament First Team.

Currently, most of Sato’s rookie and autograph cards sell for under $5,withmanyaroundthe$ 2 mark. Even the rarest cards fetch only about $ 10.

Considering his success in the European league over 15 seasons from 2004 to 2019, the perception of his cards as non-NBA might warrant a rise in their value.
