GOOD NEWS: UNC Basketball One-And-Done Secures Another NBA Contract
UNC basketball product Nassir Little will head to Miami to continue his pro career.
After the Phoenix Suns released Nassir Little in late August, he quickly emerged as one of the top free agents available. Therefore, it was no shock when NBA insider Chris Haynes announced on Monday night that the former UNC forward and No. 25 overall draft pick has signed a one-year contract with the Miami Heat, marking his sixth season in the league.
At 24 years old and on the brink of his prime athletic years, Little played his first four NBA seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, the team that selected him in the draft. Last season was his inaugural year with the Phoenix Suns.
Throughout his time with both the Blazers and Suns, Nassir Little has appeared in 237 regular season games, averaging 5.5 points and 2.9 rebounds. He has shot 45.2 percent from the field, 33.0 percent from three-point range, and 73.5 percent at the free-throw line.
As the regular season approaches in less than a month, seven alumni from UNC basketball are now listed on NBA rosters for the 2024-25 season (excluding players on Exhibit 10 deals for training camp):
