UCF Coach Gus Malzahn sells Winter Park home for $6M

UCF football head coach Gus Malzahn and his wife, Kristi, recently completed the sale of their Winter Park estate, a mere day after listing it. The buyers, whose identities remain undisclosed, have entered into a contract to acquire the spacious 7,500-square-foot property located at 1460 Via Tuscany for nearly $6million,markingapriceofapproximately$795 per square foot.

The listing agent for this expedited transaction was Brandon Geers from Compass, who attributes the rapid sale to an assertive marketing campaign and astute pricing strategies. Originally purchased by the Malzahns in March 2021 at a price of $4.2million,equatingto$554 per square foot, coinciding with Gus Malzahn’s assumption of the UCF coaching position, the property has seen a significant surge in value, emblematic of the robust real estate market in the Orlando region, as elucidated by Geers.

The upscale housing market in the Orlando metropolitan area witnessed notable sales activity in the previous year, fueled by constrained inventory. Noteworthy transactions, such as the record-breaking $35milliondealinIsleworth,andresidencesinWinterParkfetchingaround$7 million, exemplify the market’s vibrancy.

Despite parting ways with their Winter Park residence, the Malzahns have opted for a nearby property just a few blocks away, signaling a downsizing move while maintaining proximity to their previous abode.

Brandon Geers mentioned to the publication that the house is spacious for the couple, considering it is just the two of them residing there. Constructed in 2009 by Winter Brothers Construction, the house boasts five bedrooms in the main building along with a guest suite located above the garage, all situated on slightly over half an acre of land.

The residence is embellished with opulent Italian Calacatta Gold marble countertops, distinctive pecky cypress beams, sturdy oak flooring, and multiple cozy fireplaces. A highlight of the property is the well-appointed kitchen featuring top-of-the-line appliances. The backyard is a notable feature, showcasing an outdoor kitchen and a Hamptons-style pool enveloped by bushes to ensure privacy.

Gus Malzahn is entering his fourth season as head coach at UCF, a university that became a member of the Big 12 Conference in 2023.
