Kansas State football coach Chris Klieman emphasized the importance of his team bouncing back after a tough loss, stressing the need for a strong week of preparation and practice. Following the Wildcats’ 31-7 victory over Arizona, Klieman praised his team’s ability to play a complete game, showcasing their defensive speed and offensive playmakers.”We can be a complete team,” Klieman said. “We’re getting there, we’re getting better. I see marked improvement from Monday through Friday in our practice.”
The coach challenged his players to sustain this high level of play, recognizing that the only way to perform at a championship level is to prepare and practice at that same intensity. Klieman’s track record as a head coach speaks for itself. In his five seasons at the helm of North Dakota State, he led the Bison to five conference championships and four national titles, compiling an impressive 69-6 record. Since taking over at Kansas State in 2019, Klieman has continued his winning ways, guiding the Wildcats to a 42-24 record, including a Big 12 Championship in 2022.The Wildcats’ victory over Arizona was a testament to their resilience and ability to bounce back from adversity. Keenan Garber’s crucial interception in the second quarter and Malik Knowles’ electrifying punt return touchdown turned the tide of the game in Kansas State’s favor.
Klieman praised the team’s overall performance, noting that they were able to win the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.”I thought we stepped up on the offensive line and played really well,” Klieman said. “We played a lot of guys and they all stepped up.”
