Reports: Chicago Blackhawks Major Assignment To Kevin Korchinski, Frank Nazar and Louis Crevier
The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned two of their top prospects to the Rockford IceHogs, their AHL affiliate.
Forward Frank Nazar and defensemen Kevin Korchinski and Louis Crevier have been sent down to the AHL.
Korchinski was picked seventh overall in the 2022 draft, while Nazar was selected 13th. Crevier was a seventh-round pick in 2020.
Notably, this move may be surprising for Korchinski, who played in 76 games and tallied 15 points for the Blackhawks last season, despite finishing with a -39 rating. It’s likely he’ll receive a call-up early in the season.
The 20-year-old Nazar scored one goal in three appearances with the Blackhawks last year after completing his second season at the University of Michigan. He also scored earlier today in Rockford’s preseason game.
Nazar and Korchinski are expected to immediately join the IceHogs’ first line and first defensive pair, respectively.
Crevier, who played 24 games for the Blackhawks and 43 for the IceHogs last season, is anticipated to log significant ice time in Rockford for as long as he remains in the AHL.

The IceHogs will kick off their season on October 12th with a matchup against the Griffins.
