Breaking: Top-35 Recruit Gifted 6-foot-6 four-star Commits To Creighton, Becomes Highest-Ranked Recruit Ever

Hudson Greer, a top shooting guard in the 2025 class, has announced to On3 that he has committed to Creighton, marking him as the highest-ranked player ever to join the program.

The 6-foot-6, four-star senior from Montverde Academy (FL) received offers from prestigious schools including Kansas, Alabama, Washington, BYU, and Arizona. However, Creighton was the only university he officially visited.

Hailing from Austin, Texas, Greer is currently ranked 35th overall in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking and is the ninth-best shooting guard in the nation.

In discussing his commitment, Greer shared with On3, “During my official visit last December, it felt like family. The atmosphere in Omaha is unique when it comes to supporting Creighton basketball. The entire staff radiated warmth, and the strong connection I felt with them made my decision easier.”

He also mentioned that the team’s playing style influenced his choice. “Their approach, with pindowns, flares, and similar tactics, suits my game perfectly. I thrive when I’m moving around the court, aligning my feet for shots. They’ve shown trust in me, and I see myself playing in a role similar to Baylor Scheierman, but with added athleticism—and I definitely need to hit the weight room too.”

What Creighton Gains in Greer
Describing himself, Greer stated, “I’m the type of player who will always compete the right way, no matter the circumstances. Whether I score 20 points or just five, what matters is contributing to a win.”

He also had a message for the Bluejays fans: “I want the Omaha community to know that you’re getting not just a strong player on the court, but a dedicated teammate off it as well. Whether I stay all four years or leave early, I’m committed to giving my all to help us achieve great things for Creighton Basketball. I’m incredibly excited about this opportunity and eager to be a Blue Jay. Let it Fly!”

“Hudson Greer has a solid frame and good size for his position. While he’s still young and developing his strength, he shows burst as an athlete with impressive vertical leaping ability. He can finish strong at the rim even in traffic during half-court play. Greer is also an effective three-point shooter with excellent range, boasting a quick release and great balance. He’ll need to refine his ball-handling skills, but he’s capable of creating his own shots from mid-range with one or two dribbles. Earlier this year, Hudson Greer was recognized as the MVP of the USA Basketball Junior National Team April Minicamp, according to Jamie Shaw from On3:

“During the session we observed, Hudson was consistently aggressive in seeking to score. He wasn’t inefficient in his scoring attempts; he effectively navigated the half-court with two or three dribbles, pushed the pace in transition, and made open jumpers.

“Greer is a strong straight-line athlete with a frame that has room for growth, allowing him to finish at the rim amidst defenders. His ball-handling is good in tight spaces, though he will need to work on his shooting release for catch-and-shoot threes. Still, he possesses a solid basketball IQ, and his overall efficiency stood out throughout the weekend.”
