Maryland Football Bolsters 2026 Class with Offensive Lineman Jon Panagou
Maryland has added a key piece to its 2026 recruiting class, as offensive lineman Jon Panagou has reclassified from 2027 and will join the Terps immediately.
The three-star lineman from Pingree School in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, visited College Park on March 27-28, meeting with head coach Mike Locksley and the staff before announcing his commitment.
Panagou, listed at 6’4” and 305 pounds, chose Maryland over Syracuse, while also drawing interest from Army, Navy, UConn, UMass, and several FCS programs. He also visited Boston College, Penn State, and Tennessee. Maryland offensive line coach Damian Wroblewski, a Rhode Island native, was the primary recruiter and played a key role in landing the New England prospect.
During his high school career, Panagou played both tackle and guard. He is expected to enroll over the summer and contribute immediately when fall camp begins.
With Panagou’s addition, Maryland’s 2026 class now has 19 players and ranks No. 40 nationally according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

- Day’jon Moore, OL (Willis, TX) – 6’3”, 305 lbs, ESPN four-star
Several recruits, including five-star Zion Elee, are already on campus for spring camp. Fans will have a chance to see the team in action during Maryland’s first Spring Showcase on Saturday, April 25, at SECU Stadium.
