On Sunday, fans of the Birmingham Stallions had the chance to see one of the franchise’s top receivers in the NFL as the Buffalo Bills signed Deon Cain to their active roster for a game against the Miami Dolphins.
Cain has been on the Bills’ practice squad all season, where he made three receptions for 28 yards during the preseason. Buffalo added him to their roster after the UFL season, where he played with the Stallions.
In the 2024 season, Cain emerged as one of Adrian Martinez’s primary targets, leading the team with 33 receptions. He also ranked second in receiving yards with 436 and touchdowns with three.
Cain was part of the Stallions’ roster in 2023 as well, recording 16 catches for 182 yards and two touchdowns. He earned MVP honors in the USFL Championship game, notching four receptions for 70 yards and three touchdowns, helping the Stallions secure a 28-12 victory over the Pittsburgh Maulers.
Cain is no stranger to the NFL, having spent time with five different teams. He appeared in regular-season games for the Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019 and 2020, totaling nine receptions for 124 yards over 15 games.
