Morgan State to Host Annual Legacy Track Meet This Weekend
Morgan State University will hold its annual Legacy Track Meet on April 17–18 at Hughes Stadium in Baltimore, bringing together top collegiate track and field athletes for a competitive two-day event.
The meet begins Friday at noon with the hammer throw, followed by the javelin at 3:30 p.m. Events continue Saturday morning, starting with running competitions at 9:40 a.m., including sprints, distance races, and hurdles. Field events will kick off shortly after at 10 a.m., featuring the long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, and discus.

The event is expected to showcase a wide range of collegiate talent, with several HBCUs participating, including Bowie State, Coppin State, Delaware State, Howard, Maryland Eastern Shore, and the University of the District of Columbia. Local programs such as Johns Hopkins, Loyola (Maryland), Towson, and UMBC will also be in attendance, adding depth to the competition.
As the host, Morgan State aims to perform well in front of its home crowd and continue the tradition of strong showings at the annual meet.
Saturday’s schedule will also feature a Senior Day ceremony at 3:30 p.m., honoring graduating student-athletes for their contributions both academically and athletically.
Live results will be provided throughout the meet, with final results available afterward on the official Morgan State athletics website.
The facility features a newly resurfaced eight-lane Beynon BSSC 2000 track, along with a dedicated warm-up area adjacent to the stadium. Field event setups include dual-direction runways for jumps positioned outside the track for better visibility, a dual high jump area on the east end of the infield, and dual shot put circles on the west end.
