Colorado Buffaloes Secure First Transfer Portal Commitment

The Colorado Buffaloes made their first addition from the 2026 transfer portal on Thursday, signaling the start of a crucial roster rebuild under Tad Boyle after losing eight players from last season.

Colorado’s first transfer is forward Noah Feddersen, who joins the Buffaloes from North Dakota State.

Feddersen, a 6-foot-10 forward from Menomonie, Wisconsin, starred at Menomonie High School, averaging 17.2 points, eight rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game in his senior season. He earned All-Big Rivers Conference First-team honors, an All-State honorable mention, and All-Northwest First-team recognition. Despite his success, he was lightly recruited, receiving only three Division I offers from North Dakota State, Green Bay, and American University. He committed to North Dakota State in November 2021 and redshirted his first season.

Over his college career, Feddersen gradually increased his impact. As a redshirt freshman, he averaged 7.4 points and four rebounds in 22.1 minutes per game. He became a consistent starter in his redshirt sophomore season, averaging 8.3 points and six rebounds per game. While his minutes and rebounds dipped slightly as a redshirt junior, he improved as a scorer and shot blocker, posting 9.3 points and one block per game. His season-high performance came against South Dakota, scoring 20 points with nine rebounds in an overtime win.

Feddersen entered the transfer portal after helping the Bison reach the NCAA Tournament and committed to Colorado six days after an official visit.

Impact on the Buffaloes
Feddersen’s addition addresses a key need in Colorado’s frontcourt. The Buffaloes struggled on the boards in 2025, ranking 13th in the Big 12 with 34.6 rebounds per game, and are losing their top five rebounders this offseason. With a larger role in Boulder, Feddersen is expected to become a significant contributor on the glass while providing offensive scoring potential, continuing the rebuild of Colorado’s frontcourt.
