Utah Football Visits Four-Star WR Prospect in 2027 Class
Utah football staff recently made a personal visit to one of their top 2027 targets, blue-chip wide receiver Blake Wong, ahead of his scheduled official visit to campus.
Late Tuesday, Wong shared on X that offensive coordinator Kevin McGiven and wide receivers coach Chad Bumphis visited his home to meet him and his family before his trip to Salt Lake City. Wong, a 6-foot-1 consensus four-star recruit and a top-45 wide receiver nationally, has drawn interest from major programs including Utah, BYU, Ohio State, Oregon, and UCLA.
Utah is not the first of Wong’s top schools to visit him at home; Ohio State wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton Jr. and BYU coaches Fesi Sitake and Raelon Singleton also met with him after he announced his top five in April.
Wong’s official visit schedule is packed this summer: Utah on May 29, UCLA on June 5, BYU on June 8, Oregon on June 12, and Ohio State on June 19. Each stop will give him a chance to build relationships with the coaching staffs.
Utah head coach Morgan Scalley and his staff hope to make an early impression. While Ohio State is viewed as the frontrunner, Utah and BYU are considered “dark horse” candidates. Landing Wong would be a major recruiting win for the Utes, who have relied on the transfer portal for wide receiver depth in recent years.
Wong, ranked No. 243 nationally and No. 31 among wide receivers by 247Sports, also holds offers from programs such as Arizona State, Michigan State, Purdue, Washington, and Duke.
