Missouri Basketball Adds Four New Assistant Coaches
Missouri men’s basketball has announced four new additions to its coaching staff for the 2026-27 season: Jason Crowe Sr., Zach Reynolds, Tavaras Hardy, and Jimmie Foster. Hardy will also serve as the team’s offensive coordinator.
Two of the hires—Crowe Sr. and Reynolds—have strong ties to Missouri’s highly regarded incoming freshman class. Crowe Sr. is the father and former coach of five-star point guard Jason Crowe Jr., while Reynolds coached incoming five-star forward Toni Bryant at Zephyrhills Christian Academy.
Crowe Sr. led Lynwood High School from 2017 to 2024, earning Gateway League Coach of the Year twice. He later coached Crowe Jr. at Inglewood High School, where Crowe Jr. became the state’s all-time leading scorer. Crowe Sr. also served as president/director for Paul Pierce’s The Truth EYBL U16 and U17 teams and had a professional playing career from 1999-2012, competing internationally and earning the 2008 NZNBL MVP award.
Reynolds previously coached at North Tampa Christian Academy, guiding the team to two state championships, and most recently served as head coach at Zephyrhills Christian Academy. Both Crowe Sr. and Reynolds have established strong relationships with Missouri’s staff through their work with Crowe Jr. and Bryant and will also take on player development responsibilities.
Hardy joins Missouri after a head coaching stint at Loyola-Maryland (2018-24) and prior assistant roles at Georgia Tech, Georgetown, and Northwestern. Over his career, he has coached seven future NBA players and led Loyola-Maryland to the Patriot League Championship Game as a No. 9 seed in 2020-21.
Foster brings extensive experience as an assistant coach, having worked at Colorado State last season and previously at Bradley, Green Bay, and North Dakota.
Missouri lost one assistant this offseason, with Steve Wright leaving for Memphis, while returning assistants include Ryan Sharbaugh, Kyle Smithpeters, Matt Cline, and assistants to the head coach David Nutt and David Carter.
