The praise came after an eventful night for the veteran slugger. Schwarber’s grand slam was undoubtedly the highlight, but his overall night at the plate was less consistent. He finished with three strikeouts in five at-bats.

How Many Grand Slams Does Kyle Schwarber Have?
Now in his 12th MLB season at age 33, Schwarber has continued to establish himself as one of baseball’s most dangerous power hitters. His grand slam on Wednesday also brought his season home-run total to 44.
The blast represented the 10th grand slam of Schwarber’s MLB career. It was also his third career grand slam while hitting in the leadoff spot.

After the game, Schwarber spoke with reporters about the victory and the way the Phillies responded throughout the night.
“I feel like there was a lot of good things to look at the game today,” Schwarber said. He praised the team for responding after falling behind and continuing to find opportunities to put runners on base and score.
He also emphasized that the Phillies cannot always depend on hitting home runs or relying exclusively on their power.
“We’re not always going to rely on slug, we’re not going to rely on putting the ball in the seats,” Schwarber explained.
On this occasion, however, Schwarber was exactly the player who put the ball over the fence when Philadelphia needed it most.
