Chargers Could Make Big Play for Future Hall of Famer in Super Bowl Push
The Los Angeles Chargers might be eyeing a big-name addition to strengthen their roster for a Super Bowl run.
Heading into training camp, the Chargers have several noticeable gaps to address, and one of their most pressing needs is improving their pass rush.
Though they re-signed Khalil Mack in March, the team also released Joey Bosa without properly replacing him. While they drafted Kyle Kennard in the fourth round, it’s uncertain how much a rookie will contribute right away, especially one picked in the later rounds.
Fortunately, the Chargers still have cap space to make a move, and there are a few options available.
One potential target is future Hall of Fame pass rusher Von Miller. According to former NFL player Brian Baldinger on the DNVR Broncos podcast, Miller is drawing interest from “three very interested teams,” with the Chargers possibly being one of them. Last season with the Buffalo Bills, Miller recorded 17 tackles and six sacks in 13 games.
Despite avoiding major moves this offseason, the Chargers have the financial flexibility to make a splash. Miller may not be a perfect fit, but at this stage in his career, the Chargers could likely sign the eight-time Pro Bowler to a low-cost, one-year deal.
For some perspective: Miller posted the same number of sacks as Mack and more than Bosa in 2024, which makes adding him to the mix seem like a no-brainer.
At 36, Miller may not be the player he once was, but he’s still a dominant force and could be a valuable asset in helping the Chargers push for a Super Bowl title in 2025.
