Washington Commanders Sign Super Bowl Champion Edge Rusher Von Miller

The Washington Commanders are strengthening their pass rush by adding Super Bowl champion Von Miller to their roster.

Miller, who spent last season with the Buffalo Bills, announced on Instagram that he’s signing with Washington. The move comes after the Commanders lost Dante Fowler Jr., and they’re looking to Miller to bolster their defensive depth.

Miller, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M, began his career with the Denver Broncos. He played with the Broncos from 2011 to 2021, where he helped lead the team to a Super Bowl 50 victory and earned Super Bowl MVP honors, anchoring one of the best defenses of the era.

Four years ago, Miller was traded to the Los Angeles Rams as a midseason addition, and he went on to become a two-time Super Bowl champion. After winning his second ring with the Rams, he joined the Buffalo Bills on a lucrative six-year, $120 million deal. Unfortunately, Miller tore his ACL during his first season with the Bills and has struggled to return to his previous form.

In the past two seasons, Miller has been a backup for the Bills defense, but with the Commanders, he’s expected to take on a more prominent role.

Washington is hoping Miller will help revamp a pass rush unit that has been regarded as one of the weakest in the league. While he may not solve every issue, Miller is motivated and determined to help keep the Commanders in Super Bowl contention.
