Just In: UNC Football Secures Another Commitment From Class of 2025 RB Roster

In-state star Demon Jones will play his senior season of high school football as a future member of the UNC football program.

The UNC football program has welcomed a local running back to their 2025 recruiting class.

Demon June, a junior running back from Jacksonville High School, is a three-star recruit ranked #30 in North Carolina. Standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 225 pounds, he opted for North Carolina over offers from East Carolina, Georgia Southern, App State, Connecticut, James Madison, Old Dominion, Ohio, and Toledo.

June committed to North Carolina less than a month after receiving an official offer. His list of offers didn’t include Power 5 schools initially, but recently, teams needing to strengthen their running back positions began showing interest. However, they’ll need to find other options as Larry Porter adds another impressive addition to UNC’s talented and diverse lineup of running backs.

June has been extremely successful at Jacksonville High, accumulating 3,299 yards and 60 touchdowns in his first three seasons. While he might not have elite speed, he is powerful, solid, and possesses excellent balance. He’s joining the program at a promising moment.

Omarion Hampton plans to go to the NFL after this season, creating an opportunity for significant competition for playing time in UNC’s backfield next year.

Right now, it’s up for grabs for anyone willing to claim it.
