Inside Trading Anner Hudson for Haason Reddick “makes sense”, says ESPN’s Dan Graziano

On the other hand, the team has an abundance of tight ends, having added Mike Gesicki, Erick All, and Tanner McLachlan to a group that already includes Drew Sample and Tanner Hudson.

ESPN NFL insider Dan Graziano proposes a trade: sending Hudson and a fourth-round pick to the New York Jets for pass rush specialist Haason Reddick.

Graziano argues that this trade could benefit both teams. The Jets could strengthen their tight end position, as the Bengals have Gesicki and Sample ahead of Hudson and recently drafted two tight ends. Meanwhile, the Bengals need additional edge rush support to complement Hendrickson and Sam Hubbard; they recorded the 10th-lowest pass rush win rate in 2023 (37.9%). The draft pick likely balances out the trade value, and the Bengals have a knack for keeping players productive even when they’re dissatisfied in the final year of their contracts.

Cincinnati would certainly welcome Reddick, who, at just 29 years old, has already accumulated 58 sacks over seven seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, and Philadelphia Eagles.

However, it’s worth noting that Reddick has not practiced or played for the Jets since his trade from the Eagles, as he is holding out for a new contract. This would mean the Bengals would need to invest significantly to get him on the field, all while managing their existing star players.
