Alabama Lands 2027 Georgia Edge Rusher Commitment
Alabama football has added another piece to its 2027 recruiting class, securing a commitment from three-star edge rusher Stevan Thornton III. He becomes the fifth prospect to join the Crimson Tide’s future class.
The 6-foot-5, 200-pound standout from Cairo High School is coming off a strong junior season, earning Class 3A First Team All-State honors. He recorded 91 tackles, including 20 for loss, along with eight sacks, helping lead his team to a 10–3 record, a region title, and a trip to the state quarterfinals.
Thornton received an offer from Alabama in March and followed it up with an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa in April, which ultimately helped solidify his decision. He chose the Crimson Tide over several other programs, including Georgia, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, and Florida State.
With his commitment, Thornton joins a growing 2027 class for Alabama that continues to take shape ahead of the early signing period scheduled for December 2026.
