Arkansas Razorbacks Land Second Commitment of the Day from 4-Star Wide Receiver
The Arkansas Razorbacks kept their recruiting momentum rolling, securing a commitment from 4-star wide receiver Darion Moseley, marking their second pledge during a busy early May weekend.
Moseley is regarded as one of the top receivers in the 2027 recruiting class, drawing interest from programs such as Arkansas, Louisville, Syracuse, Mississippi State, Utah, Kentucky, Missouri, Maryland, Nebraska, and Vanderbilt, among others.
Although listed as a 3-star prospect by 247Sports and Rivals, ESPN ranks the 6-foot, 190-pound receiver as a 3-star with one of the higher wide receiver grades nationally.
Moseley explained his decision, pointing to the program’s direction and culture.
“I committed to Arkansas because of the culture,” he said. “Coach [Ryan] Silverfield and his staff are bringing a winning mentality, and I’m all in.”
He noted that the coaching staff’s energy and vision stood out immediately during his visit, making a strong impression as the program works under a new regime focused on rebuilding quickly.
After an initial visit last month, Moseley had planned an official visit for June 5, but ultimately decided to commit earlier, fully buying into Silverfield’s long-term plan.
Moseley’s journey has been on the rise, going from lightly recruited to earning MVP honors in a 7A state championship game as a sophomore.
He said he values development both on and off the field, citing relationships with position coaches and the staff’s emphasis on growth.
“I want to be at a place where I can improve every day as a player and a person,” Moseley said. He added that advice from his coaches—“go where you’re celebrated, not tolerated”—helped guide his decision.
As a junior, he had a breakout season, leading Alabama high school receivers with 68 catches for 1,128 yards and seven touchdowns.
Scouting Report
On film, Moseley appears bigger than his listed frame and is difficult to defend in open space. He consistently uses strong hand technique to secure contested catches rather than relying on body positioning, allowing him to win despite tight coverage.
He shows a wide variety of release moves at the line of scrimmage and transitions quickly upfield after the catch. While he reports a 4.45-second 40-yard dash, his game speed often looks faster due to efficient, decisive movement.
One standout play from his highlight reel shows him turning a short reception into a long touchdown, quickly reading defenders and accelerating through open lanes.
He also demonstrates excellent running efficiency, keeping his head steady and minimizing wasted motion—traits often associated with high-level playmakers.
Coaches believe his skill set could translate well to the college level and fits the direction of Arkansas’ evolving offense.
Arkansas Recruiting Outlook
With Moseley’s commitment, Arkansas moves into the top 25 recruiting classes nationally for this cycle, surpassing programs like Virginia Tech.
The Razorbacks continue to trend upward with several high-profile recruits expected on campus for official visits this spring, including wide receiver Alvin Mosley (June 19), athlete Jabari Watkins (June 5), Hunter Haug (June 4), cornerback Dolph McDonald, and quarterback Colton Nussmeier.
