Breaking: Georgia Tech Football Strikes Gold

Georgia Tech significantly strengthened its 2027 recruiting class this week as head coach Brent Key and his staff landed commitments from two highly touted four-star prospects from Douglas County High School on consecutive days.

Four-star EDGE Justin Weeks committed to the Yellow Jackets on Thursday, choosing the in-state program over Clemson and North Carolina after a successful official visit. A day later, Georgia Tech secured another major addition when four-star offensive tackle Joshua Sam-Epelle committed over Georgia, LSU and Tennessee.

Sam-Epelle, who stands 6-foot-9 and weighs 330 pounds, is regarded as one of the top offensive tackle prospects in the country. He also played a key role last season for a Douglas County team that reached the Class 6A quarterfinals before losing to eventual national champion Buford.

Weeks, who transferred to Douglas County from Pace Academy, and Sam-Epelle now rank as the No. 1 and No. 3 commitments in Georgia Tech’s 2027 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
