CHARLOTTE – Charlotte Softball head coach Courtney Breault announced on Wednesday afternoon that the program has added utility transfer Emma Jo Evans. Evans joins the 49ers after her freshman year at James Madison.
Last season, Evans was a regular starter for the Dukes, appearing in 51 games with 49 starts across both the infield and outfield. She posted a strong freshman year, batting .328 with seven home runs and 22 RBIs. Her performance placed her among the team leaders, ranking in the top five in both batting average (.328) and slugging percentage (.560). She also earned recognition as a JMU Athletic Director’s Scholar-Athlete.
A native of Belton, South Carolina, Evans had a standout high school career as well. She was named the 2024 Update and Region Player of the Year after hitting .567 with 17 home runs and stealing 36 bases in her senior season.
