Oklahoma joins pursuit of top-ranked 2028 prospect A’mir Sears
The Oklahoma Sooners football continue to target elite talent, recently extending an offer to A’mir Sears, the No. 1 overall player in the 2028 recruiting class according to both Rivals and 247Sports.

A five-star recruit from Miami, Sears is a dynamic 6-foot-2, 185-pound athlete who has starred on both sides of the ball at West Broward High School. He’s played wide receiver and defensive back, showcasing versatility that makes him one of the most coveted prospects in the country.
As a sophomore, Sears recorded 49 receptions for 942 yards and 11 touchdowns while also contributing 61 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and three interceptions on defense. His standout performance earned him Sophomore All-American honors and helped lead his team to the Florida 6A state championship game. He also impressed as a freshman, earning All-American recognition after producing over 500 receiving yards and multiple defensive takeaways.
Scouting evaluations highlight his all-around athleticism and ability to impact the game in multiple roles, with some projecting him as a potential standout defensive back at the college level.
Sears has already attracted offers from numerous top programs, including Oregon, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Georgia, and has made visits to several major campuses.
Oklahoma is still building its 2028 class and has yet to secure a commitment after a previous pledge decommitted earlier this year. The Sooners hope to carry momentum from a strong 2027 recruiting class and a successful 2025 season into future cycles as they continue pursuing top-tier talent like Sears.
