Florida State Football Extends Offer to Blue-Chip Linebacker
The Florida State Seminoles have been relatively quiet in recruiting lately, landing just one verbal commitment since February and only two since the start of 2026. Head coach Mike Norvell and his staff are still working to strengthen the #Tribe27 class, which has led to a few new offers in May.
The latest addition to their board is four-star linebacker Brayton Feister from Ohio, who has drawn attention from several Power Five programs. Over the weekend, Florida State became the 36th FBS school to offer Feister, with linebackers coach Ernie Sims and graduate assistant Jaleel McRae involved in the recruitment.
Feister, a 6-foot-2, 238-pound standout, has already scheduled official visits to Georgia, California, and Oregon, and is currently trending toward Oregon, making a visit to Tallahassee a long shot. According to 247Sports Composite, he ranks No. 132 overall, No. 7 among athletes, and No. 5 in Ohio for the 2027 class.
During his junior season at Archbishop Hoban High School, Feister excelled on both sides of the ball, recording 133 tackles, 39 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, four forced fumbles, and two interceptions on defense, along with 1,098 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on offense. He earned Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors and was a finalist for Ohio’s Mr. Football award.
Florida State’s only current linebacker commit, four-star Gregory Batson, is still evaluating his options.
