Ohio State Adds 2028 Five-Star Wide Receiver Jett Harrison
Ohio State continued its strong run on the recruiting trail Wednesday with another major commitment, as five-star wide receiver Jett Harrison announced he will join the Buckeyes’ 2028 class.
According to Rivals recruiting insider Hayes Fawcett, Harrison selected Ohio State over Oregon and Miami. He becomes the third member of the Buckeyes’ 2028 recruiting class, joining defensive lineman Jameer Whyce and running back Elijah Newman-Hall.
Ohio State had long been viewed as the favorite in Harrison’s recruitment, thanks in part to the success of his older brother, Marvin Harrison Jr., who starred in Columbus before becoming an NFL standout. Like his brother, Jett kept a relatively low profile throughout the recruiting process before making his decision public.
The standout receiver visited Ohio State twice during June and maintained close communication with the coaching staff despite the offseason departure of longtime wide receivers coach Brian Hartline. New receivers coach Cortez Hankton has quickly taken over recruiting responsibilities and played an important role in securing Harrison’s commitment alongside head coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes’ offensive staff.
Harrison is preparing for his junior season at St. Joseph’s Prep in Pennsylvania after an impressive start to his high school career. Through his first two seasons, the 6-foot-2, 175-pound receiver has totaled 25 touchdowns, showcasing the size, athleticism, and ball skills that have made him one of the nation’s top prospects. His ability to win contested catches has drawn comparisons to his older brother.
Beyond his physical tools, Harrison is regarded as one of the most technically refined route runners in the 2028 class, a skill many attribute to the influence of his father. Marvin Harrison Jr. even praised his younger brother during his time at Ohio State, saying Jett was “more talented than I ever was at that age,” a remark made when Jett was just 14 years old.
As he continues to develop, Harrison will have the opportunity to establish his own identity while following his family’s connection to Ohio State.
His commitment also extends the Buckeyes’ recent success at wide receiver. Harrison is the third receiver to commit in just a matter of days, joining Austin Miller and Jaden Donahoo.
Ohio State enters July with significant recruiting momentum after securing six commitments during June, including Miller, Donahoo, Caden Moss, Deontay Malone, Jaden Carey, and Marcus Fakatou. With another blue-chip prospect now on board, Ryan Day and his staff appear well-positioned to keep building one of the nation’s top recruiting classes.
