Auburn Secures Commitment From 2027 Offensive Tackle Rance Brown
The Auburn Tigers football continued strengthening its 2027 recruiting class Monday with the addition of offensive tackle Rance Brown.
Brown, a three-star prospect from Brentwood, Tennessee, announced his commitment publicly and ultimately selected Auburn over several major programs, with his final decision reportedly coming down to the Tigers and Kentucky.
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound lineman is currently ranked among the top offensive tackle prospects in the 2027 recruiting cycle and is considered one of Tennessee’s better in-state recruits. His pledge gives Auburn its ninth commitment in the class and helps push the Tigers closer to a top-25 national recruiting ranking.
Brown also becomes Auburn’s third offensive line commitment in the class, joining Layton Von Brandt and Jaylon Moore.
Earlier in his recruitment, Brown emphasized that relationships with coaches would be one of the biggest factors in his decision-making process. He explained that trust, communication, and personal connections with position coaches mattered greatly when evaluating schools.
Interestingly, Brown admitted his view of Auburn changed significantly over time. He previously felt overlooked by the program’s former staff after attending a camp without receiving an offer, an experience that left him frustrated and motivated. However, the Tigers’ newer staff successfully rebuilt that relationship and eventually earned his commitment.
Brown has also spoken passionately about his personal motivation for playing football, saying he competes to honor his family name and represent his father’s influence on his life. According to Brown, the values his father taught him—including discipline, hard work, and responsibility—drive him both on and off the field.
