Big Announcement for the Georgetown University

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Athletics has added two new members to its staff this month. Dr. Marcus Edward Dumas, Psy.D., CMPC, has joined the department as the Amato Family Head of Athletic Counseling Services, while Lisa Perrett has arrived on the Hilltop as Georgetown’s Director of Sports Nutrition. Both positions are made possible through the generosity of Georgetown donors.

The services provided through both roles are available to all Georgetown student-athletes and further the department’s commitment to a holistic approach to student-athlete development. Dr. Dumas oversees a staff responsible for individual counseling, crisis intervention, consultation, outreach initiatives and coordinated care. Perrett partners with Sports Medicine, Sports Performance and coaching staffs to help maximize student-athletes’ health, recovery and performance.

“Our mental health and nutrition positions do more than shape competitors, they build the whole person,” said Francis X. Rienzo Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Lee Reed. “Thanks to the powerful vision of our donors, we provide the resources for student-athletes to thrive in both mind and body, empowering them to become the healthiest, most complete versions of themselves.”
