The Illawarra Hawks announced Tuesday that they have re-signed four-time championship-winning forward Wani Swaka Lo Buluk to a new two-year contract.
Swaka Lo Buluk will now remain in Wollongong through the end of the Hungry Jack’s NBL28 season, continuing his run as one of the league’s premier defensive players after eight seasons in the competition.
The 24-year-old said he is pleased to stay with the Hawks and keep building his career with the club.
“I’ve loved my time in Illawarra so far. The club, the fans and the community have been incredible,” he said. “I’m looking forward to what’s ahead and continuing to grow with this team.”
The club stated that the extension shows strong belief in the 24-year-old’s continued development and the impact he is expected to have as the Illawarra Hawks push toward long-term success.
With the new deal in place, Wani Swaka Lo Buluk will be part of a key core group that also includes Tyler Harvey, Sam Froling, Will Hickey, Daniel Grida, Todd Blanchfield, Mason Peatling, as well as Kobe McDowell-White and Johny Narkle, both of whom are under team options for the upcoming season.
