Panthers Face Challenging Six-Week Stretch That Could Define Their Season
After overcoming a slow start in 2025 to win the NFC South, the Carolina Panthers will need to navigate a difficult midseason schedule if they hope to repeat as division champions.
The 2026 NFL schedule has been officially released, clarifying not only who Carolina will face but also when. The season kicks off in the Pacific Northwest with the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks hosting the New England Patriots, a rematch of last season’s finale won by Seattle, 29-13. Last year, the Panthers struggled against both teams, losing 42-13 to the Patriots and 27-10 to the Seahawks. Notably, the Panthers and Seahawks meet again in Week 17 at Bank of America Stadium.
Unlike 2025, when the Panthers started the season with three of their first four games on the road, the 2026 campaign begins at home against a fellow division champion. The first six games are evenly split between home and away. Carolina’s bye week comes early in Week 5, a significant shift from the Week 14 break they had last year. They return in Week 6 at Philadelphia, followed by a home game against the rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The tough stretch begins in Week 8
Following the Buccaneers game, Carolina faces a short week with a Thursday night matchup at Green Bay. Over the next six weeks, the Panthers play four road games, including trips to New Orleans (Week 10), Tampa Bay, and Minnesota (Weeks 12-13). Road struggles have been a challenge under head coach Frank Canales, with a combined 5-12 record away from Charlotte. The two home games during this period are against the Denver Broncos and the Baltimore Ravens.
A strong finish at home
The Panthers close the season with four of their final five games in Charlotte, including back-to-back home contests versus the Saints and Bengals (Weeks 14-15), a trip to Pittsburgh, and concluding with home games against the Seahawks and Falcons.
From just two wins in 2023 to a playoff appearance last season, Carolina is a program on the rise. If they can improve on the road, the Panthers have a chance to achieve a winning season for the first time since 2017.
