Colorado Lands Official Visit With 2027 Texas CB Kameron Roberson
The Colorado Buffaloes have secured an official visit with 2027 cornerback Kameron Roberson, continuing their push to add top defensive talent to the class.
Roberson’s Recruitment Heating Up
Roberson, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound defensive back from Cypress, Texas, is rated as a four-star prospect and ranked the No. 16 cornerback in the 2027 class by 247Sports. During his junior season at Cypress Springs High School, he recorded 16 tackles, six pass breakups, a fumble recovery, and a blocked punt across nine games.
According to Sam Spiegelman of Rivals, Roberson has lined up several official visits this summer, including stops at Northwestern, Houston, Vanderbilt, Iowa State, Kentucky, and Colorado, with the Buffaloes set to host him on June 19.
Houston, which offered him in June 2025, has built early momentum in his recruitment. Colorado, which extended an offer in March 2026, is working to close the gap as the visit approaches.
Colorado’s 2027 Class Outlook
So far, Colorado’s 2027 class includes two commits: four-star quarterback Andre Adams and three-star cornerback Davon Dericho. Under head coach Deion Sanders, the program has leaned heavily on the transfer portal rather than high school recruiting.
Recent class rankings reflect that trend. Colorado’s 2024 class ranked 65th nationally, followed by 35th in 2025 and 68th in 2026, per Rivals.
Sanders has consistently used transfers to reshape the roster quickly. For example, the Buffaloes brought in significantly more transfers than high school signees in both the 2025 and 2026 cycles. While that approach can lead to rapid turnarounds—as seen in the jump from a 4–8 record in 2023 to 9–4 in 2024—it can also create challenges with long-term roster stability.
As Colorado looks to strengthen its high school pipeline, landing a player like Roberson would mark an important step in building a more balanced recruiting strategy.
