FSU Football Lands Commitment From Talented Defender After Virginia Win

Florida State Adds Talented Defender to 2028 Recruiting Class After Virginia Victory

Florida State is carrying the momentum from its impressive victory over Virginia onto the recruiting trail.

The Seminoles dominated Virginia 38-7, delivering one of their strongest performances in recent years and getting their difficult October schedule off to an encouraging start. Just one day after the win, Florida State added another promising player to its 2028 recruiting class, even as uncertainty continues to surround head coach Mike Norvell’s future in Tallahassee.

Three-Star Defensive Back Man Robinson Chooses Florida State

Three-star defensive back Man Robinson announced Sunday that he will continue his football career at Florida State. The Seminoles won his commitment over several Power Four programs, including Louisville, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Florida.

“I’m HOME, Noles Nation!” Robinson posted on social media after making his decision public.

Florida State was among the earliest schools to offer Robinson, extending an offer in December 2024. The Seminoles became involved in his recruitment shortly after safeties coach Evan Cooper joined the coaching staff.

Cooper has played an important role in building a strong relationship with Robinson throughout the recruiting process.

Robinson has also spent time on Florida State’s campus. He attended the Seminoles’ victory over Alabama last season and returned to Tallahassee for a summer camp in June.

During his junior season at IMG Academy, Robinson has recorded two tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack across two appearances. As a sophomore, he also recorded two interceptions.

The 5-foot-10, 178-pound defensive back is currently ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 408 overall prospect, No. 44 cornerback, and No. 54 player in Florida for the 2028 recruiting class.

Florida State’s 2028 Recruiting Class

Robinson’s commitment gives Florida State four verbal pledges in its 2028 recruiting class, known as #Tribe28. The Seminoles’ group currently sits at No. 5 nationally.
