Panthers Reportedly Reuniting With Familiar Face at Outside Linebacker

The Carolina Panthers are reportedly bringing back a player who is already familiar with their defensive system.

According to The Athletic’s Joe Person, Carolina is signing outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon. The 27-year-old defender previously appeared in one game for the Panthers during the 2025 season.

A native of Hoover, Alabama, Moon played his college football at the University of Florida before entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens in 2022.

Moon made his NFL regular-season debut in 2023, appearing in eight games and earning one start. He later joined the Pittsburgh Steelers, playing in 13 games during the 2024 campaign.

His first stint with Carolina came in October 2025, when the Panthers added him to their practice squad. Moon eventually made one appearance for the team in Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers.

During Carolina’s victory, he played six snaps, all of them coming on special teams.

Moon’s time with the Panthers did not last long, however. The Steelers subsequently signed him away from Carolina’s practice squad, allowing him to finish the 2025 season back in Pittsburgh.

Now, Moon is reportedly set to return to Carolina as the Panthers look to add depth and familiarity to their outside linebacker group.
