Louisville Extends Offer to Five-Star 2027 Wing Demarcus Henry
The Louisville Cardinals men’s basketball continue to prioritize elite talent in the 2027 recruiting class, recently offering a scholarship to highly regarded wing Demarcus Henry. He is also the son of former NFL wide receiver Chris Henry.

The 6-foot-7 prospect from Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona, announced the offer on Wednesday. Assistant coach Ronnie Hamilton is leading his recruitment. With this latest offer, Henry now has 14 scholarship opportunities, including interest from programs like BYU, Cincinnati, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, and Oregon.
Henry is widely viewed as one of the top players in his class. He’s a consensus top-20 recruit and is rated a five-star prospect by multiple scouting services. ESPN ranks him as high as the No. 2 small forward and No. 10 overall player nationally, while the 247Sports Composite places him at No. 5 among small forwards and No. 15 overall.
He’s coming off a strong junior season at Compass Prep, earning Second-Team All-Nike EYBL Scholastic honors along with an honorable mention on the MaxPreps Junior All-America team. Henry averaged 12.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, helping lead his team to a 25-3 record and a No. 4 national ranking.
Scouts highlight his size, length, and defensive versatility as standout traits. He’s capable of guarding multiple positions, switching effectively on defense, and impacting games with his athleticism. His rebounding ability is also a key strength, using his motor and reach to control the glass.
Under head coach Pat Kelsey, Louisville has been aggressive in pursuing top-tier prospects, particularly in the 2027 class. The program has already extended offers to 16 players in the cycle, 10 of whom are rated as five-stars by 247Sports Composite rankings.
The Cardinals currently hold two commitments in the class—forward Ferlandes Wright and guard Isaac Ellis—and are also heavily recruiting five-star center Obinna Ekezie Jr., who could potentially reclassify to the 2026 class.
